Nov. 14, 2018 – Agoura Hills – As Marco Gonzalez saw his city burning around him and his restaurant, the Tavern 101 Grill and Tap House, he wanted to help. Even though there was mandatory evacuations ordered, Marco got permission from local authorities to keep his restaurant open and offered to feed any first responders for free. “I told my people, I told them I wanted to open just to be here for police, firefighters and first responders,” Gonzalez said. “We weren’t able to get any deliveries into the restaurant, so I’ll go out and buy whatever I can.”
Marco has since feed over 1,000 firefighters, police officers and other first responders. If you want to help Marco and Tavern 101, you can send contributions to their Venmo account: @Tavern101FeedsFirstResponders. Money left over will be donated to the Woolsey Fire Relief Fund, local police departments and fire stations. Tavern 101 Grill and Tap House is located at 28434 Roadside Dr. in Agoura Hills.
